Monica Badiu, Email Copywriter & Copy Coach

I strongly believe we learn by sharing stories, lessons, and experiences, therefore I decided to launch the Go Live with Me interview series featuring entrepreneurs, and passionate people from all over the world.

I have been connecting with entrepreneurs for years, and I love how powerful each interaction can be. It is inspiring to hang out with someone who is deeply passionate about what he or she is doing. It’s a type of interaction that boosts motivation, creates space for learning, bonding, growth, and problem-solving.

The purpose of these interviews is to inspire, and motivate entrepreneurs from all over the world to embrace their journey even more, to learn from fellow human beings who are actively creating their dream lives every single day. And to those of you who are still in doubt, I hope these stories will give you courage to take action.

Tell me a little bit about yourself. Who are you? What do you do when you’re not working?

Hey there! I’m Seyoung Park (pronounced Say-Young) and I am an entrepreneur, a creative, and a multi-passionate consultant for new and aspiring entrepreneurs. I currently have the privilege of living in Portland, Oregon in the U.S, where I am surrounded by gorgeous nature, organic foods and a super hip culture! On my free time, you can find me exploring coffee shops, cooking up a delicious meal for my family, or my guilty pleasure… watching reality t.v.

What is your business?

I started my business about 1 year ago and named it Modern Love, and this brand has continued to evolve to what it is today: a brand that inspires and empowers female entrepreneurs to create businesses, lifestyles, and globally inclusive communities that they love. My virtual assistant and I are working our magic behind the scenes as we run our guest blogging platform, an inspirational Instagram supporting female artists, a loving Facebook community, a resource hub and as we put constant efforts to diversify the cultures represented in entrepreneurship.

Why did you start this business? And how was it in the beginning (mindset, motivation, clarity, new roles)?

I started my business because I wanted to create life, work, and impact on my own terms. Right out of college, I knew my worth as a multi-passionate woman with many skills to offer, but even after accumulating 200 job applications and over 25 hours of interviews, there was no job that would allow me to explore all my passions and allow me to feel the freedom I truly desired. So I decided to take action and start my own business, and it has been the biggest and best decision of my life.

What made the difference to help you grow your business?

The desire to stay innovative! I love to keep learning, to try new things, and to explore. Bringing this exact attitude to my business is what helped me push and pull my brand’s boundaries. Not staying comfortable with one strategy and constantly exploring new and innovative strategies helps me take a wholesome approach to business growth. I can’t wait to see what my next innovative idea will be for business growth!

How do you handle being visible for your business?

I handle visibility through content creation and systems. I know my ideal audience exists across many different platforms, from blogs, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, to even LinkedIn! So my best strategy for visibility is to create awesome content and to have the best systems and processes in place in order to re-use and recycle this content across platforms. I deeply believe that aligned content is the key to visibility, so I dedicate most of my time to creative content creation.

What are you most proud of yourself as a business owner?

I am proud of the connections, community and network that I have built. I am a solid believer that community is what pushes us forward and what helps us grow. My ability to have been brave enough to be vulnerable in the online space, to be open to genuine connections and have invested time into cultivating these relationships into what they are today is something I will always be proud of and practice as an entrepreneur.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a female entrepreneur who might be struggling?

Struggle is part of the process! The best advice I can give is to try and enjoy this process and to view the situation as an opportunity for growth rather than hardship (and yes, I know this is easier said than done!). Keep holding on to hope and your dreams, your time will come!

Ready to embrace growth?

Hello go-getter! Growth is what we all strive for in business, but sometimes it is easier said than done. Growth implies going outside your comfort zone, dealing with the unknown and discovering how we self sabotage. I’ve seen it happen in all industries, both with new and established entrepreneurs. The good news is that it can be easy to embrace growth and find the strategy that works best for you. I am a visibility coach who helps established entrepreneurs grow their businesses with powerful visibility strategies and personal growth.
