When you know what you want from life, you are much more likely to achieve it. The hard truth is that many of us are walking through life without actually knowing what it is that we want. Without having that clarity, we don’t really know what are the goals that will actually increase the quality of our life and essentially make us feel fulfilled.
This exercise is stupid simple and it is going to help you discover some of your most essential goals simply by looking at what is causing you pain right now. These can be things like your career, your finances, your relationships, your health, your weight, your level of satisfaction, your success, your skills, your appearance etc.
My own experience of setting goals is that my goals have caused me to do all sorts of things that I would never have considered doing otherwise. My biggest goals have made it necessary for me to learn new skills, try new things, and take steps to overcome my own self-limiting beliefs — and it’s exactly the same for you too. I learned digital marketing by myself and that got me a job as a marketing and PR manager for one of the largest brands in Romania.
I transformed my passions into profitable side gigs that provide me with supplemental revenue streams without that much effort.. And I got here by learning how to set goals that I could achieve with ease, and passion. I discovered how I can understand myself better so I can set goals for myself and work towards achieving them without any resistance.
I want to show you how you can do this too.. It is not hard. It is not rocket science. And you can apply it in any area of your life.
It only takes two questions and honesty.
Take pen and paper, put on some nice music, and set aside some YOU time, which means making sure there are no distractions or interruptions.
01. What are the things or situations in your life/business/relationship that are causing you pain?
02. Convert the pain points into their opposite
For example, if you find yourself broke at the end of each month (or in the middle), you can easily create a goal to fix your finances. This can mean get a promotion, or make a career change. Or maybe it is just a matter of learning how to spend less or save money.
If you are unhappy at your current job, then maybe you can create a powerful goal that says 12 months from now you will be working in a new company, or have your own business. If you take the time to learn what it is that you actually need to achieve in your life to be happier, it will become a lot easier for you to set goals – and yes, to achieve them.
