This is one of the things that most thought leaders are afraid of. It’s why they’re not using email marketing to its fullest potential.
So, here are 4 telltale signs I’ve come across over the past 5 years working with dozens of creators across various industries.
1. Frequent sales pitches with little to no valuable information.
Weekly emails that only contain product advertisements and discount codes without offering any helpful tips or educational content.
Promotional emails that repeatedly push new product releases without providing any context or value to the reader but blasting URGENCY and SCARCITY.
This is where my warm-up email strategy is perfect. You can learn more about it in this video.
2. Ignoring customer feedback or not engaging in genuine interactions.
Not including a feedback option or ignoring responses from customers who reply to their emails OR worse – asking for refunds.
Continually sending irrelevant offers despite recipients indicating their preferences through previous interactions or feedback forms.
3. Lack of personalized content that addresses the audience’s specific problems or goals.
Generic content that doesn’t speak to the specific needs or pain points of different segments of the audience.
You can watch this video to learn more about writing emails that connect with your audience:
4. Rarely providing free, useful content or resources.
Emails that only promote products and services without including any valuable content like tips, guides, or industry insights.
Failing to offer any free resources, such as e-books or webinars, that could help the audience solve their problems or achieve their goals.
These are only 4 of the signs.
There is definitely more under the surface. But if watching this video helped you realize you’re making some of these mistakes, don’t worry. There’s always at least one solution to your problem.
The #1 thing you should be focusing on is making sure you truly understand your audience.
